Experience in a manufacturing assembly environment building parts to form a complete unit at a conveyor line or bench.

Previous assembly experience desired in utilizing hand tools, power tools, presses, hoists, and gauges.

Ability to comprehend detailed work instructions and diagrams, both written and verbal.

Prior assembly experience preferred.

Visually inspect and assemble small components, use hand-held gages, and work with automatic transmission fluid.

Must work well in a fast-paced, team environment.

Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment

Experience in the set-up and operation of horizontal shapers plus operating computer controlled machines that mill, drill, and ream
metal parts

Experience in making general decisions as to the quality, tolerances, dimensions, and operation sequence with precision measuring instruments using a variety of measuring tools such as
indicators, micrometers, and gauges. (CMM experience a PLUS)

Machine shop training, shop mathematics, metal properties, and GD&T

Set and adjust tooling as needed

Make tool and fixture off sets

Interpret gear charts and reports

Prior machining experience and/or training preferred

Use hand-held instruments, gages, CMM, etc., to verify product quality

Read blueprints

Work well in a team environment

Responsible for quality and quantity of production

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five years of plant maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Knowledge of Centralized Maintenance Management System Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Mechanical aptitude; intermediate mechanical and basic elecrical knowledge; ability to use hand tools; basic HVAC skills.        

Ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell; climb or balance.

Ability to lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Operates stand-up and sit-down fork lifts as well as walk-behind lifts and other material handling equipment.

Performs safety checklist on fork lift equipment. Changes batteries and / or propane tanks on fork lifts.

Moves material from storage locations to assembly line, maintains stock of components online to ensure continuous fl ow of the
assembly process.

Opens cardboard boxes with box cutters.

Loads material flow racks on assembly line by hand.

Ensures correct components are on the assembly line for current model being produced.

Works closely with Assembly Team Leaders to assist in timing of and facilitates material changeover during model changes on the
assembly line.

Uses SAP Inventory System to check availability of components.

Interprets build / ship schedule to ensure availability of parts.

Transports fi nished units to storage areas.

Maintains FIFO of components and finished goods.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP Inventory software and Excel Spreadsheet software.

Forklift License and Forklift experience preferred.
